Horn Review: I was a Bach man from way back and when it was time for a new horn i started test driving all the shelve brands. I tried them all from Benge to Bach I even test drove a V-Raptor, and i found them all lacking. Well i ran across PJLA music and saw what i wanted the 2040 model. I bought it without ever playing it hoping it was as good as the other reviews i had read about it. When i got my horn i open the case and was stunned by the style and the lines of this instrument. I told myself if it plays half as good as it looks then i am in heaven. I picked up this surprisingly light horn and again to my surprise this horn out preforms any horn i have ever played! The intonation and the way this horn plays is just outstanding. It is... [Read More]

Horn Review: I bought mine new back in 1988. It has taken a beating, and still plays as well as the day I got it. The tone is awesome with the Bach 7C mouthpiece. I love it, and have had many opportunities to replace it with a more expensive model, but each time I just haven't been able to justify it.

Horn Review: I have had the pleasure of evlauting the standard Cannonball trumpet in silver-plated finish this past weekend, and I would say that it is one of the finest (if not THE finest) trumpets I have come across in my 40 years of playing. Although my initial impression was favorable, it was not until I took it home and played it for several hours that I fell in love with the Cannonball. I have played a great number of trumpets over the years and found several that I liked as well or even slightly better than my trusty old Bach Stradivarious, but I have not come across one that 'moved' me like the Cannonball. I wasn't even 'in the market' for a new horn, but in fact, I'm now going to buy one!
You'll notice that I am not... [Read More]

Horn Review: I use the horn for Church and Big Band. The instrument is a quality horn and well manufactured. I bought mine a couple of years ago and still struggle with intonation especially with f#. I have tried fingering options (all down), lipping the horn still plays very flat on f#. I’ve tried 4 different mouthpieces and have ended up the Yamaha GP. Apart from f# it sounds great.
