I was given a Hans Bach Saxophone, it's silver, and I believe it is an E flat Alto. I am keeping it in my family, but I am wondering what this is worth?

Thanks for the email Shannon...

Hans was the brother of Vincent Bach, who owned a music store in NYC about the same time that Vincent started mfg. trumpets. He did mfg. his own instruments, so it most likely a 'stencil" horn which was mfg. by another mfg. For example Conn did this commonly during the early mid 1900's... The value would most likely be in the mid $500's, highly based upon the condition. (as with any student line saxophone from that period) However, might be worth more just based upon the Hans Bach heritage. Not a huge amount of those horns that I've ever seen.

Thanks for sharing.
