I am the original owner of a Mt Vernon Bach Strad trumpet L bore (model #25)serial # 134XX year 1954. I grew up in New Rochelle, N.Y. near Mt Vernon and remember Mr. Bach handing me my new trumpet at age 11. Can anyone tell me what Model # 25 meant in 1954 and what the actual bore size would be for L bore back then. After all these years this is the only trumpet I've ever played or even tried!

You have a Stradivarius model trumpet with a #25 bell. The 25 bell is the same as the old #7-10 bell. A large bore instrument is .462. Check out the "Bachology" section of Bachbrass.com for more detailed information.
