I have two Bach Bugles. I purchased them from an individual that used to work for Selmer. The bugles are approximately 22" long.
One has no numbering on the bell or receiver. The other has 5 on the receiver, 11 and 48 on the bell. As you look at the bells and read the inscriptions from top to bottom they read:

Stradivarius
Model
Vincent Bach (in script, with a line that goes under it from the T back to the
N in Vincent.)
Corporation
New York
U.S.A.

The gentleman I bought them from does not want to be named or photographed. He did mention some names to me if anyone knows them, they are:

H. W. (Bill) Petersen
Pete Giannino

If anyone knows about these bugles such as possible age, what the New York USA may mean (other than a location). the numbers and the two gentlemen mentioned I would appreciate it.

The owner gave me some info, but only as to how the bugles got from Bach to the person I bought them from.

Sincerest Thanks,

Larry

Can you post, or send images of these bugles also? These are indeed a "rare" Bach horn, and not much is known about them.

The only good reference on Bach Bugles is a great 2 part article written by Roy Hempley which can be found here:

Hope this helps...
