from my email today

Hi,
I'm in the process of purchusing a Bach Strad Mt. Vernon trumpet from a friend. and i'm puzzeled that the bell reads Bach Stradavirius Model but there is no model number on it I have also noticed other Mt. Vernon strads on ebay that the bell only says Model.
How can i tell if it is a 37-43-or 72 Bell.
Or back in the Mt. Vernon era did they have another reason for not putting a number on the bell?
this horn i'm looking at is stamped
ML on the valve casing.
I would be greatful to hear the answer from you.
THANKS
Dan

If the bell is not marked, it is highly likely it is a 37 bell. The ML = Medium Large bore, and you should research the serial number here.
