I have a very old Selmer Signet trumpet serial number 12502, it says Elkhart, Indiana - made in the USA, just like another trumpet I have (#56932) but that one also says "designed by Vincent Bach". Is it possible that the first one can be made in Elkhart but not be a Vincent Bach? Some confusion about this. It is two tone and came with 5 mouthpieces, two or three or which say "Vincent Bach" on them. No sign of his name on the horn though.

The Selmer Signet was an intermediate product line introduced after Selmer bought the Bach assets and moved to Elkhart. Rumor is that as part of the transaction, Vincent Bach agreed to stay on and introduce a series of intermediate trumpet designs to be produced for the Selmer Brand. A few years later, Vincent Bach's name was also attached to the Bundy trumpet, which was a student line horn.

I have a Selmer Signet piccolo trumpt and it plays very well, and is an all around very good trumpet.
