From my email today.

Hello. I have become more interested in the trumpet I've been playing for nearly 40 years. It is a laquered strad serial number L 52323 and the bell says it is "model 25" built in Elkhart.

The web says circa 1970, which is about right. Online I can see that most newer models can be built with various bells. Do your records go back far enough to tell me more about my horn?

Some supplementary questions. I'm in Canada. Do you routinely dis-assemble and clean up older horns? If I were to do that, how
much might it cost me? How long would it take? How might I go about arranging this?

We don't do trumpet repairs, but there are some great comanies that do some great work on older horns. I would start at Dillon Music... (http://www.dillonmusic.com)
