Review: This is as good a student horn as any. It plays easily to help beginners along, while offering good enough ease of use and playability to use all through high school. It sounds good on the low end, especially when augmented by other low instruments. Perfect for smaller bands.

There are a few problems with the instrument, though. The tone gets shriller the louder you play, but students won't develop or use enough lung capacity until the later grades to notice. Also, the valves need to be oiled regularly. They bind fast if left for more than a few weeks without oil. The case itself is sturdy, but the wheels are poor quality and disappear after about a year.

That being said, I would still recommend this to anyone looking for a good student tuba.
