Wow, this is a very early Holton cornet.

Date
The serial number would date it to a mfg. date of approx. 1910-1911.

Bore
The marking of "1" on the valve casing refers to the bore of the cornet. The bore options on New Proportions were 0, 0-, 0, and 1 bores. The "1" bore is a large bore, more than likely a 0.468"

Other Markings
I'm still digging through my files on the specific reference to San Franscisco, Glory. Perhaps a military band instrument. A similar model with the serial number 10465, was engraved "engraved as 55th Infantry Division of the Iowa National Guard". Perhaps engraved for a local (San Francisco) Navy division band? I'll keep digging on this.

Here's an example from the same time era of a New Proportion cornet.

Other examples - Case
I'm assuming you case looks similar to this example.

I'll keep editing this post, as I find more information from my files...
