I've come into a Bach Trombone that looks like a Model 16 or 18 with a slide model of 36 with a serial # of 2051. The horn is silverplated, has Stradavarius Vincent Bach Corp, New York USA on the bell. The bell is only a 7" bell. This horn plays like a Alto because of the small bell and the larger slide section. By not stating on the bell the model, is there anyway of identifying the model on the bell and what year it might have been manufactured? Anyone have any ideas? I can send you pictures if you need.
Thanks

With trumpets, Bach kept "shop cards" of the specs, build date, customer, etc., for the horns built until they moved to Elkhart. I would imagine they did the same for 'bones.

Call customer service at Conn-Selmer in Elkhart and give them the serial number. They can likely email you the shop card.

From this list:

It looks like a 1940/1941 build date. The shop card will give you all the info. Let us know what you find out.
