I have a clarinet named Collegiate Frank Holton, Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
It is written "Made in France
The number is stamped "D 10634".
What is the year of the instrument?
Help me please.!

Thanks for the images. This was most likely built by a 3rd company under contract to Holton. The serial number does not follow the traditional Holton list (http://holtonloyalist.com/serialnumbers.htm), as it would indicate it was built in Chicago (and not marked Elkhorn, WI). Also the Collegiate brand was not introduced until later.

My guess would be 1940-1950's, and mfg. by a 3rd party in France. perhaps Selmer Fr?

Where does it say made in France? Did not see that in the images provided?

I'm sorry not to post more pictures.
Today I took detailed photos of the instrument.
I speak Portuguese and I'm from Brazil and am not very good at English.!

wanted to know more detail about the year of manufacture of the clarinet.

Thank you!

Holton clarinets were not manufactured by Holton, rather were stencil instruments made by another manufacturer for Holton. The serial numbers of this other mfg. did not match the Holton serial number list.

I do not have much information, as these were mfg. for Holton for a limited amount of time. These were not professional models for Holton, and were intermediate/beginner clarinet models
