I have an old holton trumpet with the serial number 82843. It says "Made by Frank Holton Elkhorn Wis" on the bell and has an "LP" engraved on the lead pipe/receiver. I am trying to get as much information on this horn as possible, including worth.

Thanks for your help,

mfg. in 1929/1930 time frame. LP = Low Pitch (normal to what is used today as a Bb trumpet).

Any other unique markings on the bell or on the lead pipe where the mouthpiece is inserted?

Thanks for the image, this would have been a special edition model. Would guess this was semi-professional trumpet, and from this limited photo would guess it could be worth ~ $300-500 to the right collector of older Holton trumpets.

Hope this helps -
