  1. How do you tell if a Bach Strad. 37 is a C or Bb trumpet?

Does anyone know how to tell the difference? There are no distinct markings on the trumpet itself to let you know and I have no paper work with it.

  2. I have never seen a 37 bell on a C. Most are a 229 or 239 bell.

Try comparing the side view of the 37 to trumpets on the Conn-Selmer (Bach) website. You'll notice the leadpipe and tuning slide are shorter on a C than a Bb.

Here is a Bb model 37:

    Here is a C model 229:

See how the tuning slide is closer to the valve body - because the pipes are shorter.

    Hope this helps.

  3. This is a Bach LR180S43 Stradivarius Bb Trumpet
