Thread: getzen/wilson

I am looking at buying a getzen/wilson flugelhorn. It is in excellent shape, plays well, what is a good price?

Also found an olds Ambassador cornet. I am thinking about $150 on that.

You should search eBay for completed auctions for similar models. I would guess no more than $500. Do you mean Don E. Getzen/Wilson. This would be very different than a Getzen Eterna, Capri model flugel horn.

It is a Donald E Getzen Signature series. has wilson stamped on 2nd valve. Asking price $1,100. Can't do that much, but what would be a good range. In great shape, 1 very small ding before bell flare

I did a completed auction search on eBay, and found a Getzen Eterna flugel sell for $500. The DEG (Wilson) Flugel is not the same quality, level of a flu gel horn - so would guess less than $500 would be a good price.

I personally would pay no more than $300-400, and would probably keep looking for other flugelhorns - if you can find a Getzen Eterna flugelhorn like the completed auction on eBay for $500 you should buy it.
