Pros: The ultimate big boy studio trumpet. Superior tone , sound
Cons: Difficult to play in the ultimate extreme register. Mutes-hard to fit

The Calicchio 3/9 large bore trumpet is the ultimate heavy players studio trumpet. This trumpet plays and sounds superb. The lovely, incredibly gorgeous tone of the Calicchio 3/9 is hard to beat, and it is what makes it the most desired and used professional large bore studio trumpet. If you want the finest trumpet sound , the ring of your bell that sounds better than anyone elces trumpet, you can not go wrong with Calicchio. The Calicchio 3/9 large bore trumpet can be used for many circumstances, but the .468 bore might wind those not used to large bore trumpets, and it takes a lot of effort to , with the right mouthpiece play the Calicchio 3/9 large bore trumpet in symphonic situations. The Calicchio 3/9 is not a good trumpet for the novice, as it takes a great amount of trumpet playing skills to play this ultimite big boys trumpet well. If you have these skills, the Calicchio 3/9 large bore trumpet is likely to reward you with a sound that few other if any trumpet brands can match. Each Calicchio trumpet is hand made in America by America's finest trumpet craftsmen. John Duda is well know for making some of the finest trumpets that have ever been made. The Calicchio 3/9 L is less altoish imho than the Flip Oakes Wild Thing trumpet. IMHO the Flip Oakes Wild Thing trumpet is easier to play.
If you wish to order a new Calicchio trumpet, you may have to now contact Marcinkiewicz.
