Pros: Free blowing, capable of cutting through a big band, yet mellow enough for combo work; great slide
Cons: Some minor finish issues, covered under warranty

I was looking for a medium priced basic pro horn for some doubling work that I do (being primarily a bass trombonist). I tried this horn and fell in love with its sound and ease of playing, which is very open. In yellow brass, it is capable of great volume, yet can play very sweetly. The slide was terrific right out of the box and has been trouble free.

The trombone did develop an acid bleed after a few months near the bell rim, but Getzen has a good five-year warranty that covers these problems, and they took care of it. I did have to pay for shipping. The problem has not surfaced again in the last year and a half.

If you need a very good jazz horn, this one is a sleeper that needs to be checked out.
