Pros: warm dark sound, perfect tuning and slotting
Cons:

The B1 has the smallest bell (78% copper) of his flugelhorns. It's the perfect flugelhorn for me because the slotting, tuning is very good. The valves (Bauerfeind) are really very fast. It plays easy through all registers and needs almost no adjusting on the d1 and c#1. It has a nice warm sound and has a good response. Mine is goldplated.

Pros: very precise tuning and warm precise sound
Cons: none

I allways thought bach Bugle are (one) of the best (i played many years on a 183), but after today I changed my mind. Its difficult to explain the differences, not only the sound is beautifull, the way of playing is so much better. of his nature a Bugle is not that perfect tuning instrument, but even the tippicle difficult notes are easy to tune. Mr van Laar himself adviced me personelly and did so little modifications for me. I can only say, don't forget to play on a van Laar if you have the change (i gave a 9 because you never know what happens in the futere, but in fact it should be a 10)
