Pros: I have played a 1991 Kanstul Burbank 5x trumpet for the past four years. It is basically a "new" version of the pre-UMI Benge. It is very well made with great intonation. It is a very versatile instrument with a great tone. It is more open blowing than
Cons: I haven't found anything that I dislike about this trumpet. It is somewhat difficult to find information about the Burbanks on-line in reviews and such, but Kanstul readily provides information.

Pros: Great tone, intonation, valves, everything's so amazing. I just purchased mine today and it's amazing.
Cons: Hard to find history on the instrument

It's amazing. That's all I can say. It's going to be my trumpet for the rest of my life, and I think it's going to be great. Now, I want to go practice opposed to review it, haha.

In response to the owners of their burbank trumpets, they truly are wonderful trumpets with a vast history that began with benge! If you want to get the history of this trumpet go to brass resources.com and find the website that says "The benge nut".Or you can email MichaelThomasMusic.com,Mr.Thomas still sells these legendary horns exclusively!!!!

Pros: Easy blow, sizzlin upper register
Cons: None (after re-felting the valves).

Bought in June 2008 off ebay for 240 (less than $500). Bought originally in 1990 played a "few" times and put in case and never blown again until I bought it! No laquer wear,no scratches,no dings near perfect!! It was advertised as the Burbank model however I cant find anything definitive on the horn to confirm this. I have emailed Jack Kanstul for info (from the serial number) but to date had no reply. Also emailed Charles Hargett asking same.... no reply to date!! I notice one or two others have posted positive reviews on here (see above) and was wondering if these guys are still around on here what would be distinctive on the horn to confirm its a Kanstul Burbank. Its a cracking horn and after replacing the noisy neoprene felts for...... erm...... felt, its a joy to play. My wife has become a Burbank widow recently as I keep disappearing upstairs to have a blow!!!!! ( I know that sounds a bit tacky/double entendre.... but ya knows what I mean!!!!). Any of you guys own/owned a 1990/91 Kanstul Burbank?

Pros: Easy blow, great sound, responsive & quick valves
Cons: None

This is one sweet playing horn. According to Kanstul, my trumpet was made in April, 1986 and is a .464 bore. This is a wonderful trumpet. It is very responsive and has an unbelievable sound. It sounds beautiful when I play mellow but it can also bring down the house if I push it. I've been playing it for the past 15 years and have no plans of switching to another horn. It simply plays great.
