Description:
Features:

Excellent entry-level instruments.
Rich, full sound.
Secure response.
Our lowest-priced instruments.
New, updated 5 1/8" diameter bell.
We have reintroduced these classic Monette models as entry-level instruments. They are designed to be played with our standard STC-1 weight mouthpieces. With new, updated 5 1/8" bells, along with improved layout and bracing, these instruments sound fuller and more open, and are even more forgiving to play than the original designs made back in the 1980s. Many times these are the best choice for professionals or serious students who want a faster, more secure feel and a richer, more consistent sound than they can find in instruments avail-able at music stores. Available in raw brass or brushed 24k gold finish.

Pros: Tuning, tone, response, projection, blend with other instruments, solo uses, quality of craftsmanship
Cons: Double case, which weighs a ton.

Without a doubt the finest C trumpet I have ever played. In tune, full sound with the classic tone of great orchestral horns that one needs to project, yet blend. Records well, horn is well made and is a great instrument for solos as well. Just finished doing a complete concert of world premieres in orchestra, including a CD recording of the works, and the results were very good, indeed. The horn projects well, yet is broad enough in tone to fill even the largest halls. This is one purchase I would gladly make again and again......the horn is just that good.

Pros: Intonation, projection, easy to play
Cons: length is longer than most cases

I bought my Chicago model (what is now the 61X) C-tpt used, and it is not just the best C-trumpet I've ever played.. it's the best trumpet period. Best of any key, model, or make. The intonation is so good I don't use any alternate fingerings, I can go from pp to fff and the instrument just responds like it's reading my mind. The old Chicago models may not be quite as broad as the newer models, but it is the most versatile trumpet I've ever owned. If you can find one used buy it!
