Pros:
Cons:

I own one of these mutes as well as a 'Harmon' brand mute.

The Wick never finds its way into my case, as I find the Harmon, though certainly not ideal, a better mute.

The Wick is heavier than the Harmon - I believe it is made of thicker material. It has less 'bite', but does produce a louder sound.

This mute is still a good mute - it is well made, and does the job. However, I believe there are better harmon-style mutes out there.

Pros: Volume, definition, easy to play
Cons: Personality, broadness

This is certainly a fine mute. I compare it directly with my Harmon Wow-Wow and they have two completely different sounds (IŽll be taking of them both used without the stem). The Harmon is filled with personality and really "makes a stand"; while the Wick is waaaay more precise and slots every note better (thru the entire register). Personally, I use the Harmon when I want to make sound (or playing a solo), and the Wick when I want to play notes (playing in a section). If you have to choose between one or the other, I think youŽre better off with the Harmon.
