This trumpet is a must for those players looking for greater performance from their instrument. You would expect to pay a lot more for a horn that offers this level of quality and attention to detail. The silver plated finish and 1st slide trigger make this trumpet ideal for all types of music.

Pros: Good value, well-made, nice features such as 1st valve slide trigger, 3rd valve adjustable ring, and traditional water keys
Cons: I suppose the reputation of the "new" Olds trumpets is not as quite as good as the "old" Olds

I played more expensive trumpets (Martin and Benge) from elementary and high school, but now many years later as a comeback player I wanted a good value to get going again. So I compared the features and prices of many trumpets online, and decided to to buy the Olds NL10MS (silver). It is well-made, looks very good, and most important it sounds great! For only about $500, it is a nice silver trumpet with all the features that I wanted. I like the 1st valve slide trigger because I find it more comfortable than a thumb saddle, and it is easy to use. I also like the adjustable 3rd valve ring so it can be adjusted fit your grip better than those fixed rings. In addition, I prefer the traditional water keys instead of those other Amado style keys that some new trumpets have. Overall, this Olds trumpet is a good value, has good features, and sounds great. I highly recommend it.
