Pros: Centered, slots well throughout, ligthning fast valves, takes any power you can muster and will break glass at fifty paces! Pair it with a CSV2 mouthpiece and it's a winner in every catagory.
Cons: You'd better be able to breathe!

You can't possibly go wrong with this horn! It is the perfection of the B1. Schilke's own horn. One of the most respected horns in the business.

Pros: World class sound at any volume on any note and flawless craftsmenship
Cons: None

After playing several other manufacturer's pro horns in side-by-side tests as well as some other Schilke horns I bought the B3 this past fall. Actually, my wife bought it for me for my 60th birthday. I've played trumpet and cornet, including jazz, blues, classical and gospel, since the mid 1950s. This horn will do it all. The valves were perfect from the get-go. The response is right there all the time. Thanks to perfect centering and slotting, it is as close to effortless to play as any horn made by man will ever be. If you buy a B3, or any Schilke that you find plays best for you, be sure to do yourself a big favor and buy a Schilke mouthpiece. Their selection is second to none. With just some careful reading of their catalog and a little bit of auditioning, you'll be able to find the best mouthpiece for you and your style of playing. Like their horns, the workmanship of their mouthpieces is simply the best. In addition, their after-sale service and customer support is second to none. There's a reason why some of the greatest players of the past 50 years have selected Schilke trumpets and cornets, they are very fine and expressive instruments that will never let you down if you do your part.

Pros: Best valves I've ever tried
Cons: None

Similar to the 2/27/2006 reviewer, I've played for over 50 yrs and the B3 was a 74 th b'day present to myself. The horn is about 9 yrs old , in perfect nick and like all Schilkes I've seen is a product of true craftsmen. For me, the valves are just perfect -- the right feel, response, whatever you like to call it, this B3 is the best. I've only ever played light-weight ML horns (mainly Selmer and Yamaha), having been steered that way by my first teacher and now at this late stage in my "career" find that a horn rated as large bore has opened up my playing to levels I've always strived for, losing none of my range (to high F), gaining more clarity and power and no breathing problems. I rate this horn as 9.5, only because no-one has ever made a perfect horn.

Pros: all
Cons: none

After 20 years searching and trying all other major brands I went to the shop to try the whole range of Schilke Bb trumpets, finally I chose the B3 Berrylium bell. I now have it for 3 years and never regretted this purchase!!
