Pros: Everything
Cons: Price...but it's worth it...

Hi Everyone,
My name is Daniel Rosenboom. I've been working with Ken Larson as long as I've been getting work done on my trumpets, and I can say with full enthusiasm that Ken is a master craftsman. I've had my C, B-flat, and E-flat modified and customized by Ken Larson and these instruments were the pinnacle of what I thought possible, even when compared with the newest, hottest instruments on the market. But when I tried Ken's new GFT line of custom instruments, I was completely blown away. I'm actually trying to sell my current instruments, which are spectacular horns, so that I can buy a complete line of these horns. The C trumpet comes in 2 models, which are very similar. The main difference is the width of the tuning slide: one is a standard width and the other is the New York Bach width. The latter is what I prefer. The horn has an unbelieveable range of color and flexibility, but slots and plays in tune like a piano. It sings with a beautiful tone at all dynamic levels, but can sounds like a flugel or a sizzling lead trumpet if you need it to. The response is immediate and clear and articulation is easy. I can't say enough good things about this instrument. I absolutely love it and could not be more impressed. Ken Larson's GFT C trumpet is perfect for anyone looking for an artist-level instrument. Bravo Ken!

Pros: An advantage to all pro players, one hell of a spectacular horn.
Cons: addictive.

May 2007, I contacted Ken with the project of making me one of his GFT C's which was to be quite a heavy task as I live and work in Spain and not able go to him and try out his trumpets before starting work on mine. However after many e-mails and phone calls to Ken explaining exactly the feel I wanted, he just seemed to know what I was looking for and set to work right away.Everything was comunicated to me as he worked on the trumpet and as he comleated each section was finnished and sent to me on the date he said.I received it at my home in perfect condition
