Pros: Fantastic horn for price. Does everything well.
Cons: water keys tend to stick

I am a former pro studio player in L.A. I had to retire due to a long illness, which led to other ways of making money. However, the playing bug never leaves you and I decided to get a new horn without putting out too much money, just in case I couldn't get back into it.
With that said, I did a lot of reasearch on several horns; went to pro shops and played all of their pro horns, keeping in mind what I liked and disliked about horns I had owned in the past.
I came across a Blessing ML-1 in one store and was told it was their pro horn. I only have ever thought of Blessing as a student horn manufacturer, but gave it a try. I loved it! The horn sang with a fat tone and slotted nicely in all registers. I went to the web to find out more.
I found that Blessing makes several components and pro horns for other manufacturers (Bach Strad valve casings, a pro horn for Zeus, flugels for Olds, etc.) and that all of those sweet sounds on my Clifford Brown albums were produced on a Blessing.
I noticed that some websites were offering ML-1s and ML-1G's for less than I could get it at my local shop, so I took the chance and purchased an ML-1G. It is a fantastic horn for the money. I have owned Benges, MF Horns, a Calicchio (which I never should have gotten rid of!), a Bach Strad 43L, and a few more pro horns and this is just as good as most and better than others.
Some say you have to break the valves in on this horn. Not the one I got. They have been lightning fast from the moment I opened the case for the first time.
On a budget? Need a good horn with a fat tone that slots from pedal tones to double-C's (at least) and is beautiful as well? You'll have a great time with this trumpet!
Oh, and I don't give 10's on anything... Otherwise what happens if you find an 11?

Pros: In tone, even sound, valves very fast, price
Cons: craftsmanship

It has a fine and even sound on the whole range and slots very well. It is very good in tone and the valves are extremely fast and good balanced. The price is very deep.

However the craftsmanship seems not first quality, the buttons of the pistons fell out quite soon an I had to fix them, and there are some other imperfections compared with first class pro-horns. However with this price you have anyway a good horn.

Pros: This trumpet is great!!
Cons: none so far

I actually got the anniversary model 49 out of 100 made and this is an awesome trumpet and it really has a fat tone.i can play dark or bright easier with this trumpet and slots easy.Valves are slick and i didnt really need to break it in.

Pros: blows great ......................
Cons: crap craftmanship could have spent more money on better stays etc

I bought this trumpet as a credible back up horn...................as i am getting my king 2070 done up.

I must say for a 2 piece bell trumpet this really does blow well...............its in tune and the upper register really sings unlike some special pro horns i have tried............However the craftsmanship around the stays and bracing is dire !!!!!!!
I'm thinking of sending this one off to get some bach stays and stuff done to it as there are cross vibrations above top c.....................
I have ordered some curry ccaps as well to ad a bit of weight to the trumpet as it seems bell heavy.

I would recomend this as a back up horn or serious student

Pros: Excellent horn, great tone, looks beautiful
Cons: Somewhat difficult to get a good marching like tone

I am an intermediate student trumpet player in high school, and had been playing an old used Conn since 5th grade. I finally reached the limits of my old horn and wanted to upgrade, and this was an offer too good to pass up.

From the moment I received it, it had a beautiful sound and my range improved greatly as I strived for the higher noted my old student trumpet was not nearly capable of. The sound is defiantly concert however as when trying to play the bugle calls which we commonly used in marching, it became difficult to reach the correct tones as I could with my old one. The trumpet however does make up for this fault in concert sound. It is definitely made to make beautiful tone quality without the need for note bending or lip-position changes. My sound overall has greatly improved with this horn and there have been no real concerns to speak of.

Bottom line is, this is a concert horn; it is not for marching nor should it be with the beautiful craftsmanship. I would definitely recommend this at least to any student wishing for a professional upgrade without spending an absurd amount of money.

Pros: superior tone control
Cons: Hard to obtain replacement parts

I've owned this horn for nearly 10 years and, were my chops back up to the job, I would most gladly use it to play any professional gig that came my way. Unlike other pro horns, it is very affordable without having to concern yourself with all of the overhead with buying a well-known brand, such as a Bach Strad or a Benge. I used it in my senior year in high school, and while I encountered a few problems with volume during marching and jazz, I found having a decent variety of mouthpeices and using lighter mutes with minimal back pressure diromg jazz more than made up for it, as I could produce everything from clean bright bugle tones to more challenging jazz tones. If you are moving from a student horn to a pro horn, this is definitely the one.

Pros: Great Intonation, Fast Valves, Craftsmanship, Everything
Cons: Buttons are valve keys

This was my 2nd horn. Saw a gold and silver special anniversary trumpet and had to have it. I have No. 66 of 100. Used in concert, jazz, and marching band. Did great in all 3. The only thing bad I have to say about it is the mother of pearl valve keys fall out. Other than that great horn. Defintely recommend for middle or high school student.
