This trumpet with the right mouthpiece sounds so good, makes you want to cry. The right mouthpiece for me, just for this trumpet, is a Bach 7CW (beautiful compact sound), Schilke 14 (really big huge fat sound), Bach 3C (best compromise between sound and endurance for me), Bach Mega Tone 3C (in between the Schilke 14 and everything else) or Schilke 13B (very clear compact tone).
As usual, the build quality and valve action is the best available, even if you spend gobs more $$.
But the Beryllium bell, this thing is incredible. You play and the whole horn vibrates in your hands. Never seen anything like it. The tone is also like no other horn I have heard or tried.
The closest current catalog Schilke to this X6B would probably be the X4 with a Beryllium bell.
The only down side is the endurance issue. I find myself using more pressure than I would with a ML horn. So, for me, I use this as my practice horn and for occasional solos.
