Pros: Valves, sounds great
Cons: Third valve slide falls out

This is actually a review for the Getzen 30S Renaissance C-trumpet, which was incorporated according to Getzen into the new 3070S. I bought my Renaissance on closeout for $900. In my opinion this was a steal. The horn has been fabulous and I can't say enough about how fantastic the valves are. The tone is great - nice and bright which is needed for the trumpet/organ music I use the horn for. The only downside is that there is nothing to keep the third valve slide from falling out and because of that I have two dents on it. Other than that, the horn is nearly perfect.

Pros: Nice intonation for a C trumpet, beautiful sound, outstanding valves, remarkable fit and finish
Cons: Mine is the Renaissance, in understanding, the close relative and precursor to the 3070S; no slide stop for third valve and no good way to correct that other that the shoestring to which I've applied.

Beautiful C trumpet with gorgeous sound. I play tested this discontinued instrument against several top-of-the line, highly-regarded current other makes and models and found the Getzen Renaissance considerably more open-blowing and just as intonationally correct as any. Another plus is the angled (i.e., flush) second valve slide, not the awkward 90 degree configuration other manufacturers embrace.
