Pros: Great sound, Responsive, easy to play, versatile horn
Cons: had problem with sticking valve

Bought a used 1S7 and found it was a fun and versatile horn to play. This was a Hollywood made horn - 75th anniversary addition. 2'nd Valve stuck a little bit. However, after working with it for a while it stopped sticking. A very nice horn.

Pros: COOL NAME , GOOD REP
Cons: ALOT OF HYPE - NO COLOR TO ITS SOUND

I REMEMBER WE HAD A LOCAL MUSIC STORE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AND THEY HAD ONE OF THESE CLEARANCED FOR $1250.00 IN SILVER WITH REGULAR RETAIL OF $2300.00 - I JUMPED AT A CHANCE TO TRY IT OUT AS I WANTED IT - IT LOOKED COOL AND HAD A NEAT SOUNDING NAME AND A REPUTATION BEHIND IT - I PLAYED IT NEXT TO MY BACH STRAD 37 SLIVER HORN AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED - ITS SOUND HAD NO RING , OR CORE TO IT , THE VALVES WERE NOT EFFORTLESS BUT FELT SLOW , THE FEEL OF IT WAS LIGHT AND ALMOST CHEAP - I GLADLY HANDED IT BACK AND SAID THANKS BUT NO THANKS - EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A KILLER DEAL IT WAS NOT GOING TO IMPROVE ME AS A PLAYER IN ANY WAY SO I DID NOT WASTE MY MONEY - THIS IS A TRUE STORY -

Pros: Powerful, brilliant sound with excellent control
Cons: a pinch too wide on the sound

Mine is one of the last 50 or so that Domenick personally made and it's definitely special. The bell produces a powerful sound with a zip and core that production bells can't compete with. Very even and balanced to A above high C with excellent intonation throughout. The horn is a work of art.

Pros: Effortless tone production
Cons:

If you play long, hard hours in trios like I do in New Orleans, you will welcome the effortless, quick response. It will extend my career.
