I played a 38B connstellation for 15 yrs. When my connie was damaged in a car accident returning from a gig, I bought a used 56 Victor 10B from a local shop because the shop owner told me the 10B was the same horn without silverplate - Turns out that's not true, but I'm really glad he told me it was. The 10B is so much sweeter than my 38B. Much darker and fatter sound, but with same awesome projection. Maybe even better. I love the look of the copper bell in contrast to the nickel valves. I also like the bottom sprung valves better. Sweet to hot, this horn does it all.

Dark fat sound that projects like nothing made today. I think it's more versatile than my old 38B, but can sizzle just as well.
With the huge nickel plated valve body, it is slightly on the heavy side, but that probably is one reason it resonates so beautifully.
Bottom sprung valves are fast.
It's also one of the most strikingly beautiful horns I've seen. Copper bell, nickel plated valves, nickel trim, and yellow brass highlights. Sounds as good as it looks. I get LOTS of compliments on this one.

The 10B is is my weapon of choice for almost every gig. The sound is fat, luscious, versatile, and expressive; the projection is great; the respose is excellent from a whisper to a huge FFF. I love that it DOESN'T sound anything like a Bach. Plus, it is a beautiful, no-nonsense intrument that is not junked up with gimmicks. I have two 10Bs and one 10A, and you couldn't get me to part with them!

A very versatile trumpet that does it all. It's a keeper and if I find another I'll buy it too. It's blow is more open than my LA Benge 3X+.

Sorry guys
I am trying to find out if this is the same horn as the 1970 "Victor". I don't know but does anyone know if there was actually horn made in 1970. Some one is trying to sell it to me. he claims the horn is in Mint condition. Let me know if you have any info on this horn thanks:
