Pros: tone, valves, overall quality
Cons: After 10 years I still wouldn't know

I bought my Renaissance approx. ten years ago. I am a lead trumpetplayer in a funk and soul band in the Netherlands.
This instrument is outstanding. The tone it produces is open, nicely centered and transparant. Every note slots as by itsself and its projection is second to none. It's valves work -as you would expect from Getzen- like a dream. I think that both Yamaha and Vincent Bach should have nightmares with these Getzen valves in the titleroll by now.
The only real competitors for this instrument are the Getzen Custom models. But that's no shame.

Pros: Intonation, Valves, Finish, Valves, Slotting, Valves
Cons: ?

I purchased this horn used on Getzen's reputation only. I sold a more expensive horn & I thought I was trading down. I was amazed at the fit & finish of this horn. It's 15 yrs old & the valve compression is still perfect. It has a lyrical quality with the right MP in the lower & middle register. I was thoroughly surprised at the amazingly easy upper register. You're not supposed to hit these notes with such clarity on an "all around" horn. The slotting is great & the Gold Brass bell just adds more colours to the available spectrum. I didn't "trade-down" at all. I AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED!
