Pros:
Well built high quality instrument.
Cons:
Blow may be tighter than one is accustomed to using.
This instrument wreaks of quality. The valves are the smoothest I've ever used. Intonation was very good. The horn slots like a dream. This is not an open blowing horn. It has a beautiful focused tone. It is every bit the trumpet one would expect from Schilke.

Pros:
smooth valves, beautiful sound, slots easily,
Cons:
tighter blow that takes a while to get used to
Truely an excellent horn. The valves are the smoothest and fastest valves of any horn I have ever played.
It has a wonderful, beautiful, focused sound. Though, initially it seems tight you adjust to it fairly quickly. I highly recommend this horn. I have owned a B1, a B5 and a B7 and I like the S42 better then any of the other models.
