Pros: fairly light, good intonation, great valves, plays like a Bb
Cons: not a Bach C sound, but the pros outweigh for me

I've played this horn for a couple years in orchestra and it works well for me. I used to play Bach C's, but they don't play in tune like the S22C, and the "feel" is more like a Bb trumpet. My Bb trumpet is currently a Yamaha Z horn (6310Z). I switch back and forth between the two, and the feel is very similar. I play principle in the orchestra, and have had zero complaints about the sound.

Pros: Intonation, projection, felxibility, quality
Cons: "it's not a Bach" stigma

I got this horn from Stu's Music in MD. I'd played the very same horn at a few trade shows and always loved it. Played it next to Bachs, Yamahas, etc.., even the new Yamaha Artist C. I still prefer this horn. Lightning fast response, excellent flexibility, excellent intonation, and superb craftmanship. Having owned several C trumpets (an excellent example of a Bach, Yamaha/Malone, and Besson Classic with an M/K slide), this horn wins over them all. As for the "it's not a Bach" stigma, you don't win auditions by what horn you play on.

Pros: response
Cons:

This is not only the best C I've played (3 eras of Yamahas from 1974 on, Kanstul Besson with the three lead pipes, Getzens, Bachs, etc.) its the best tpt I've played. The response is so live that it seems to suck the air right out. Sometimes the tuning slide is all the way in and I don't even notice!
I have had some trouble with staining on the valves. I think due to its being left out of the case in a quite cold upstairs Minneapolis house. I contacted Schilke who recommended a "Blitz" treated cloth. This removed the staining and restored the valves.

Pros: good intonation,
Cons:

Bought at Adams, Ittervoort, the Netherlands for 2400 euros.
Superb sound, intonation and response. Sounds darker than the C series of Schilke C trumpets. Good slotting. Nicely build and sturdier than my previous Schilke CXL tuning bell C trumpet on which I also had to correct more notes.

Pros: Valves
Cons: Sound, intonation...

I owned one of these several years ago (my college era) and I never like the way it plays. Maybe I found the wrong horn for me (or it was a dog !!!).

Pros: Plays in tune right off the shelf!
Cons: Doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Bought a demo Schilke S22C in brand-new condition from Giardinelli and loved it from the start. The sound is fabulous and I was amazed to find that it plays in tune in all registers without requiring alternate fingering. Ask any Bach owner how to play a 4th line D or 4th space E. This horn is incredible! I've read multiple threads that criticize the sound of the Schilke when playing with (against?) Bachs. I've only so far heard compliments about how warm and rich the sound is. I've got my keeper now.
