Pros:
Great sound, excellent slide action, simple to repair, sturdy case
Cons:
Ripple (called "chatter by brass experts) in tubing, lacquer could have been better, little extra storage space in case
Bought from store in roughly 1978 or 1979. This was a small store frequented by serious Hollywood studio and other pro musicians. The batch of Bach horns had been picked over by other pro musicians, but this was still quite a good horn. I played this for roughly twelve years before having this refurbished by a well known repair person in Anaheim. This is a great horn for mellower, not "brassy" jazz or commercial playing. It has, perhaps, one of the best slides in my small collection of horns. It is a perfect horn for most pit orchestra work. I use a King 2B, with lightened slide for my day-to-day commercial horn, with this horn and a large bore Bach 42B as alternates for other types of work.
