Pros:
responsive rich tone
Cons:
This has been a great all around horn that has been a part of high school concert, marching, college, rock band, and community volunteer band for 25 years. Consistently the best horn in the group. Be careful buying a new one as the factory is on strike and scabs have been making the horns as of late.

Beautiful tone, Great slide and valve

Great horn. Can be used in pretty much any setting, even some bass parts. Rotor is loud but works great. Very good slide.

Pros:
Great sound quality, very good slide action, easy to repair, good case
Cons:
heavy horn, case has very little storage space
Bought from well known Los Angeles brass specialty store, this was a used horn from a very famous studio musician who was essentially retiring from day-to-day studio work. This horn, based upon serial number, dates from 1976. The horn plays beautifully and was well cared for, although obviously used quite a bit. I had to have the main tuning slide action stiffened, and the valve action tuned a bit (to silence rattle) by a good repair person here in town. While not as open blowing as the 42BO horns, the valve section plays well once you figure out how to blow through it.
