Pros:
Good sound and slide
Cons:
Large slide not the most comfortable for all people
The 40BO is a classic horn. I think I've seen more of these around than any other large bore trombone. While I liked mine, I found that my hand didn't fit the wide slide. I got used to it, and was able to use the standard grip with the index finger on the upper tube, but it always felt like a stretch. I know of a number of people who just place the index finger on the brace, which I found uncomfortable.
The 42BO does have the option now of being ordered with a narrow hand slide, which I think would make it better for a larger number of people.
Other than that, I really liked the instrument - it was sturdy, had good sound, a good slide, and (at the time, a good price). The case was also good. Definitely recommended.
I sold it and switched to an Edwards, but that's another review.

Pros:
Excellent Slide, big sound, comfortable hand brace
Cons:
Loud rotor, response could be better
Great horn, but over time I have come across better. This was my first professional model horn and is a serious step up for most. The newer valves bach produces are much quiter, but responsiveness, especially in the upper range needs to be improved.
