Great sounding "English" style cornet. ahve owned this horn for over 10 years, and it sounds great, and blends well in a concert type band.

Pros: unbelievable valves, good fit and finish, traditional sound
Cons: plays stuffy at times

This is a very traditional, English-style cornet. The sounds is very good, and you won't find a smoother set of valves. They move quickly and QUIETLY. The horn tends to play a little tighter as you go higher, but the sound opened up with the addition of Curry Magnum CCaps. Truly a great horn!

Pros: Valves, Tone
Cons: none

I have owned 2 of these fine cornets. I love the sound and when played with a true v-cup cornet mouthpiece it produces a beautiful rich sound. I use the horn extensively for small group jazz, dixieland and increasingly in other settings such as weddings. It is very comfortable in the hands and well ballanced.

Pros: Response- very fast. Tone- superb. Dynamic Range- tremendous.
Cons: The "Amato" water keys tend to stick.

I have use mine professionaly for years since the early 1980's. I have owned several of these fine instruments and used them in bands, orchestras, brass quintets, and dixlieland jazz settings.

Pros: Great valves, superb fit and finish
Cons: Tight in the upper register

I'm coming at this as a lifelong trumpet player, and this is my first cornet. Through most of my range, this horn sounds wonderful. But, compared to my everyday trumpet (Conn 1B), it plays tight in the upper register, and I really have to work at playing above C. I still haven't gotten high-F to sound correctly. I am using a reasonably large mouthpiece (Schilke 15C4), but I still really have to blow when up high. This horn has the best valves I've ever used, and the 1st and 3rd tuning slides worked effortlessly from day 1.

The unusual wrap in the leadpipe makes the grip of this horn unique - it takes some getting used to, but after a while it feels fine.

Overall a wonderful horn. I'd buy it again without hesitation. The people at Tulsa Band were great to deal with.
