Absolutely great horn. projects, plays, whatever you want it to do. I played on a friend's one, recently bought, for about 12 hours over the course of three days, and it is the best medium bore i have played. Perfect slide (with slide-o-mix), great open wrap with just a little resistance from the little valve. Only quirk is that it takes a small shank MP (medium bore, of course) but playing with my Yamaha 48, it spoke no matter what register. Double pedal Bb (BBBb,in 2nd pos.) spoke even a little better than my King bass bone. If you used the right air, the upper register was great. Got up to top F (two octaves above F Clef F) easily and clearly. Responded quickly and well, lip slurs were a breeze... Of course, not being a larger bore, the very high dynamic levels got a little icky but that is to be expected. Also, the 6.5AL that comes with the horn has a very rounded rim and collected spit like crazy. Very hard to get clean articulations on. It was shiny, however. This horn is a great horn for an aspiring high school player who wants to play all the styles. You can the edge of a small bore but the beauty of the larger bore. Just get a better MP and this horn will speak.
