This instrument has the reputation of having established the true bass trombone sound. The red brass bell has been styled to maintain a consistent, warm timbre at low and high dynamic levels. The unique G/Gb attachment can be reconfigured to the player’s taste for setting up low C and B natural when desired. The bore design assures proper reinforcement of the lower partials.

Pros:
great sound, great dynamic control and range, ingenious design.
Cons:
F and G/Gb attachments even if well oiled sometimes make noise
this trombone is quite possibly the best i have ever played. In all my 4 1/2 years of playing i haven't found another Trombone like this one. the unique G/Gb ability is quite convenient and saves loads of arm movement during the quicker and more complicated runs. all-in-all, this is the only trombone you'll ever need whether you're a bass trombonist or a tenor trombonist.

Pros:
Bags of volume.
Cons:
Constricted airflow through the triggers and associated pipework.
I use mine for military and big band and it easily underpins the rest of the band (sometimes overly so according to the conductor!)

Pros:
versatility of the instrument in key and volume
Cons:
not open wrap F attachment
this horn is amazing, it takes everything that you can throw at it and still maintains good tone. I wish that Holton would have made this horn an open wrap option for the F trigger but with the versatility of the G/Gb trigger, you can make that into a F trigger if you need the open sound for you c's and f's. All in all, one of the best and most consistent horns I've seen

Pros:
Lots of tuning options, fantastic sound
Cons:
Noisy linkages, restricted airflow with both valves
Very good trombone. lots of different options for tuning. Good slide and very well built. A bit difficult to hold. Produces a very dark sound. I would definatley recommend.

Hello - I purchased one in 1978, andit is still going strrong to this date. I loved this horn then, and still love it today. You cannot go wrong if they still make them today as they did when I got mine!

A fantastic instrument - I have played on one since 1981. Unfortunately the new ones aren't as good as those old ones, but they're still better than most that's out there.
