Pros: Cheaper than a Strad
Cons: not as good as a strad

Worse than the 3137 original Challenger model.

Pros: response, intonation
Cons: sounds like a Yamaha

I had been told that this horn was a "Bach killer" when I had the opportunity to try one. In fact, it sounds very different from a Bach - not unpleasant, but with less overtones.
What impressed me was the response : double high C's are so easy to play that it is almost incredible.

Pros: Good quality instrument
Cons: Every one compares them to a Bach

This is a well built and nicely finished instrument. The valves are quick smooth and quiet and everything works as it should. Produces a nice sound with no glaring intonation problems. Easy response from low to high register. Comes in a solid, roomy and stylish case. You can pay a lot more money and not get a better instrument than this. Very good value for money

Pros:
Cons:

Great tone, it is a Bach strad killer. I tried the Stradavarious and Hated it, the tone of this trumpet sounds so much better than the Strads, and if you don't belive me just play one for your self. Fast responsive valves, and a very conveneint and good looking case. I give it a 10

I bought the model with goldbrass bell and leadpipe.
Great warm sound, quick and easy response. Plays great in tune!

I fell in love with this brand on a shopping trip to my local store to buy a new trumpet. I now own 9 different B&S trumpets! Totally fantastic brand, totally recommeded.

Pros: QUICK response, easy to blow
Cons:

I owned three bach strad (37-43-72 all standard weight) and it sounds very commercial (like 37) but with a faster response, not as heavy as strad horns.

Pros: Excellent quality, intonation, sound, easy to play
Cons: none

I play that trumpet now for 6 years. I am still impressed about intonation, flexibility, sound and quality. Have played a lot of trumpets but I have never played an instrument comparable to my Challenger 3137/IIs. This is a universal instrument, usable for classic chamber till jazz solos. I really recommend it.

Pros: excellent build quality, tone, feel
Cons: not well known

I've recently been on a horn safari, from Yamaha 8310Z to Bach 182, via a Courtois AC522 (Challenger 1) and finally to this.
(I even tried a John Packer 171SW cornet, a superb value instrument playing way beyond its price).

The model I finally bought is a B&S 3137/2 LR lacquer, every note seems easy to find. With a Bach 3D its a little dull sounding, with a GR 66Z* it sounds great and keeps an easy high register. The guy who wrote double C seems easier was not joking - it seems to light up with the right mouthpiece in it. What also impresses is the low G is fat and focussed with a shallow mouthpiece.

I guess the slightly more open B&S with its bigger 37 bell than the Bach suits me best - the others are all tighter blowing.

Even the case is superb and far better than the recent Bach strad case - because its like an old Bach case with room for mutes and the horn moulding can fold up.

There was no adjustment needed - valves line up just right and the receiver fits exactly to gap right. It played right out of the case. It also sounds huge with a custom Curry mouthpiece in it.

This horn is a keeper....

Pros: Build quality is great !
Cons: none

This trumpet plays much better than my Bach's but feels the same in my hands. I tried Ten different trumpets of this model and all played great. I also tried a new Bach,King,Yamaha, and none seem to play like these trumpets.
