Because of its two windings and more conical bore, this instrument has more resistance and flexibility. Best suited for coloratura work, slurring, triple tonguing, and other technical performances. like most Bach Strads (Chevys) a bit boring
Ideal choice for a Strad player. Very easy transition. Try a Bach 6 Cornet mouthpiece (used by Vincent Bach himself). Sounds very nice. Just do not expect romance. Like a Chevy; it starts, is reliable, and will get you there with little trouble.
I much prefer my Martin Committee cornet. It sounds and plays like a smoke filled Jazz bar a 2:00AM. You just might get lucky.
