Pros:
very open, free-blowing, great craftsmanship and sound, great intonation
Cons:
none
I custom ordered this horn from Schilke 1 year ago. It is gold plated with rings instead of saddles and has a sterling silver bell and Amado waterkeys. This instrument has the blow and feel of a Bb trumpet because of the ML bore, but it still possesses a characteristic Eb/D trumpet sound. Each set of slides works very well, and each side of the horn has pretty good tuning characteristics which is rare for any multi-key horn. The standard bracing of a fixed-bell horn also means you don't have to be quite as careful with it (not to say that I go around beating it up or anything )
