Pros: Quality of sound, pitch center consistency.
Cons: None.

I've had this horn for nearly a year now, and have been nothing but pleased with it. I played extensively on a Yamaha 9610, as well as some on a Schilke E3L.

The Stomvi beat both of these horns in every possible aspect, including price. I don't particularly like the Stomvi Eb/D case; you cannot carry the horn in it with the D bell on- it has to have the Eb on it... but that's obviously not a fault with the horn.

The yamaha was a great horn, and the pitch consistency was about on even terms with the Stomvi. (I did not care much for the Schilke; I thought it was too stuffy) What put the Stomvi ahead of the Yamaha was the quality of sound, and the feel of the horn. This horn can be big and dark if you want it to, which is what I want in an Eb/D... I dislike the Eb/D's that sound like piccolo trumpets.

It is extremely comfortable to play on, as if you're playing a bigger horn. This is really nice if you're playing in a situation where you have to go from a bigger horn to this one, or vice versa.

The sound quality is my favorite part of this horn; it's big, dark, and consistent throughout all registers. I've been nothing short of ecstatic with how this horn has worked with me; I'd advise anyone in the market for a new Eb/D to play on one of these puppies.

Pros: Tuning is excellent on both Eb and D
Cons: The case is poor - can only transport with Eb bell on!

This is an incredibly good trumpet especially when compared to the Schilke E3L which is very similar. The Stomvi is more open and lighter in feel but with is rich sonority that is hard to beat. It feels like playing on a Bb.

Try the Haydn or Hummel on the Eb and you will see what I mean.

Pros: Fantastic quality throughout
Cons: Case

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Top notch instrument almost as good as the Schilke it's based on but £1000 cheaper.

The only reason you should go for the Schilke over this model is for the four valve model - unless of course Stomvi bring one out!

As in other posts you cannot transport your Stomvi in D in the standard case which is a real pain. I would recommend you buy a quad case (with the money you save from not buying a Schilke).

The trumpet itself has a really good build quality, valves are good intonation is fantastic and it feels and responds like a Bb trumpet. I actually prefer my tone on this Stomvi to my Bb Strad which is odd as I didn't like the Stomvi Bb's.
