Pros: no staining on clothing + very effective on new horns
Cons: n/a

15 MAR 2010

i had a new trumpet and flugel that would give me issues with sticking valves. i would wipe down valves and casing every day or two and re-oil but would have sticking valves again within a day or 2 using a well-respected and well-known oil.
-
i was ready to send both horns off to the shop for valve work to be done.
-
then i tried burp bio oil, which was recommended to me by another trumpet player ... wiped down valves and casing once, oiled the valves once, and nothing has stuck since ... 1 month later and still no sticking + very fast action. i just ordered 2 more bottles. i can't overstate how amazed i am at the results!
-
one side bar: i had tried another 'currently popular' oil with poor results before trying berp = not only did i have the same sticking issue within a day but i started seeing a few oil spots on my clothes, which i had never seen occur in 30+ years of playing. those spots did not come out in the wash. bottom line: berp works better than the other oils i've used for years (al cass and ultra pure) and it doesn't stain or mark my clothes.
