The C trumpet "900 TT" is designed for orchestra playing and is suitable for the soloist as well as for the whole section.
More particularly developed with Philippe LITZLER (soloist at the French National Orchestra) and with the ONF brass section, together with Guy TOUVRON, the "900 TT" has been manufactured from a specific concept.
The "TT" ("Twin Tube") technology presents indeed a special mouthpipe made of a double tube : a classical slide inserted into an outer receiver. The extra mass and the space created between both tubes produce a characteristic resonance and facilitate the whole sound production.
New slide/bell braces, a right hand little finger hook set on the valve casing also contribute to an easy blowing. The result is a generous and lively sound imprint, a flexible blowing, precise and perfectly controllable, and a very pleasant response.
In addition to all these qualities a very well balanced tuning and dynamics over the whole range make the "900 TT" a great orchestra trumpet.

This is a great horn. Very free and open - not stuffy and tinney like a Bach. I would rate this an 11 if the vol when high enough.

Pros:
Open sound, great control, awesome valves, perfect C trumpet
Cons:
You must use alt fingering from C#5-E5
I have played only a few C trumpets, but I have noticed the same thing about them all...they sound like I am playing a soda can! Not true with the Selmer TT. This is my primary horn. I play it in Wind Orchestra and Symphony, and I would play it in Jazz if I were quicker at transposing on the spot! I do use it, however, to solo on. Very smooth, very nice, can play deep lows and big highs. You must use alt fingering from C#5-E5, but like all C trumpets, this reg is very very sharp!!! I, too, would crank it to 11!!!
I paid $900 for this horn on ebay I would have paid $4000 for it, though.
