Pros: Sound, ease of playing, price
Cons: None

From one of my posts at TrumpetHerald.com

...Now the surprise - I just picked up other horns at random, and one also had the characteristics of Nick's Stage 1 California. They seemed very similar to me. It turned out to be the Brass Sound Creation, which I had never heard of. Apparently the cost is considerably less than the Stage 1 horns, and it certainly seemed to me to be of equal quality. The only difference I noticed was that the BSC seemed to have a richer middle section and the California had a richer upper range. Price aside, I think I prefer the California, but this BSC was a shocker.

What really grabbed my attention was the nice rich sound. Then I noticed that I could play high G just as easily as on the California. The only difference I noticed was that the California, for me, had a brighter sound, which suits my tastes better. But oh, that BSC sound!!! Thick, rich, vibrant, and tasty. I also noticed that it was really easy and inviting to play.

Pros: Pure tone across all ranges...dynamics
Cons: (personal only!)...extremely directional sound

I've had the horn on trial for a couple of weeks. Let many play this horn over that time. Took turns listening to each other play. It was a virtually unanimous conclusion across all types of players (classical/commercial/jazz). Very easy blowing horn with beautiful tone throughout all dynamic ranges. The sound was very directional. The sound was not broad but very focused. This is not to say it is a bad thing. I stress this is personal preference. Yet as we did play tests pointing the bell away from the listener, the ambient sound would diminish greatly. You would definately need to trust your sound! Projection was good...but again, extremely directional. The bell was not 5", but 4.5". Perhaps a true 5" bell would give this horn a bit more breadth of tone.

All in all, this was a true surprise. The more you played it (that directional issue aside), the more intrigued you were. A very nice instrument indeed. Great valves..very fluid. Played it against several other models... specifically want to mention against a Bach Strad 37 reg wt. This horn won, hands down. Much freer..Bach felt stuffy, sounded stuffy. Quite a surprise. This horn is worth a look. Hope this helps.
