Ultra-Pure oil is incredible. This valve oil is the #1 choice of Dave Monette and is included with all Monette trumpets. I purchased some to try and it is phenomenal. 1 bottle has lasted me over 1 year, I'd like to see Al-Cass do that. This stuff is great, and very safe to use and have around young students. Give it a try!

This is really an exceptional oil and the comments you see posted on trumpet message boards from musicians who have used it will give it equal praise. I've tried Bach, Binak, Al Cass and Yamaha Premium oils -- all have their positive aspects (Al Cass especially, which most people recognize as "industry standard"), but none have the combination of smooth valve action-lasting quality-oderless smell. The cost of $6.95 is worth it, especially considering the free shipping and fast response/great customer service. A bottle will last a LONG time and it is great for those "closet horns" which get played less often. Follow manufacturers recommendation and clean your horn with a lemon-type liquid detergent... once you remove all the old residue from other oils you should have no sticking issues. I violated this rule in my first use, but after properly cleaning the horn I found it to be supreme. This is the first and only synthetic oil I recommend due to others causing buildup or discoloration. I give praise to Al Cass also as a clean, fast oil, but Ultra Pure is really a stand-out-- once you try it you may not go back to others.

Ultra-Pure is by far the best valve oil that I have ever tried. It doesn't smell like Blue Juice and lasts longer than Al Cass. I only have to oil my valves every couple of months and yet they're still super fast! In terms of price, it's a tad more than the competition, but it will last you twice as long! There's a reason why Ultra-Pure is recommended by David Monette!

Ultra-Pure Professional Valve Oil works so well on all my horns, from bach, yamaha, and schilke, to even the student horns Olds, King, etc. Old and new horns love it. So many people endorse and praise this oil -- and for good reason. It just works.

I can't give this product a score because I haven't tried it but it has great endorsements, and great info on it's website. I use La Tromba T2, which I like but which doesn't have a good site. The previous La Tromba product had a marking on it's container that it contained silicon. The current product doesn't have any info about it's contents, and no website showing where it comes from and what it might contain. Ultra Pure Oils doesn't contain silicon and is against it because it can become gummy. Maybe that is true, it is very hot and humid in Japan just now and my T2 covered valves will sometimes get a little gummy and slow though they still work smoothly and don't stick.

oil spotted clothing

i bought 4 bottles 'in bulk' online (i don't remember the price), but have since sold them to someone that loves this brand.
i had used 'al cass' for years. when i bought a new horn i had issues with sticking valves, so i bought his product because so many recommended it. i was wiping down the valves and casing on virtually a daily basis on this new horn, and ultra pure did last a bit longer than al cass, but i was still getting sticking valves before 2 days went by... so i tried another brand (which is reviewed on this website).
another strange but true issue was that after i started using ultra pure, i started finding oil spotting on some of my shirts. it didn't come out in the wash on a few nicer fabrics. i had never even noticed this problem in 30+ years of playing, so i was perplexed as to why or how this was happening. i was adding oil liberally to the new horn, but since i wiped down the valves and casing so often, it wasn't like excess oil was pooling in the lower valve caps.
i also used a drop on the 'water keys' and on my 3rd valve slide along with light grease... but didn't find that i was getting oil on my clothing from these areas.
btw - i have not had this issue since changing brands ... just strange.
