Pros:
Nice price,
Cons:
Nothing more then a trumpet on steroids
This is a trumpet, Not a flugelhorn. In order for this to get a semi flugel sound you MUST use the mouthpiece it comes with other wise you get a mellow trumpet sound but not a true flugel sound. I would recomend this to a young student looking to darken their sound.

Pros:
Good, mellow tone
Cons:
Clunky valves
The other reviewer is insane. This IS a flugelhorn (obviously, from the photo), and the mouthpiece it comes with is crap. With a v-shaped Wick or Curry mouthpiece, it has an excellent, mellow tone. Unfortunately, the valves are slow and clunky -- enough to be a real problem. That keeps me from recommending this horn.

Pros:
I use a Bach 7c Fl mouthpiece with mine with a coronet adapter as the Bach taper is a bit small. But it sounds like a flugelhorn to me. Obviosly not the greatest Flugel but my valves work fine. Very good for a cheap Flugelhorn Good for jazz. I would reco
Cons:
Without slide levers and spit valve on 1st and 3rd slides. But I prefer it without spit valves anyway.
Good horn for someone who wants a basic Flugel horn to get by on for jazz and ballads. Does have a good flugel horn sound. But marginal depending on mouthpiece.

Pros:
lightweight, good balance, nice deep lyrical sound.
Cons:
Not as dark sounding as other flugelhorns. But good blow for the money.
The valves on mine are not slow and clunky! I had a professional valve alignment done on it and replaced the springs with wider stiffer ones, really smooth them out. This is a good student flugel or for an advanced player that doesn't get to play it alot that's on a budget. Amati instruments are real sleepers and need to be known. the czecs have been making fine instruments way before we did! People think that you have to spend alot to get alot, some higher priced horns I've played were no better.

Pros:
Nice basic flugel, if you just want one to get by on. I use a yamaha 12fd3 mouthpiece on mine and it fits very well and gives that nice flugely sound not to dark and throaty but light and lyrical. my valves work fine when I put better springs in them. ( t
Cons:
no water keys but intonation and resistance better with out one. no third valve slide lever adjust.
