This horn has a full tone that holds its own next to the Bach Strad. Lots of body to the sound. Excellent response, although not as freeblowing as the Bach or Yamaha professional models. It is, nonetheless, a first rate horn that is quite affordable either new or used.

I bought this horn my senior year of high school going into college as a music education major. It has not been what I expected. Although the sound can be quite good, for the effort it takes it is not worth it. The valves are of lower quality than my old Bach Stradivarius and the 3rd valve slide still moves slow despite trips to the repair shop. In my opinion, spend the extra cash and go with the Yamaha Xeno.

The quality of the sound that comes out of the horn is excellent. The sound is a little dark but is good for all around playing. It has a little bit more resistance then the free blowing strad but to some players who feel uncomfortable without resistance this horn is perfect. You can pick up a used horn for a really cheap price, but be careful, the quality of each horn is inconsistent.

Fantastic horn!! I preferred it to the Strad #37 I owned previously! Great horn, not a great raspy/new orleans jazz horn, But that is alright!! i have a cheaper horn for exactly that. Highly recommend!!
