I bought the Severensen Custom 3001LE Gold plated and hand engraved ser#13. This model was later named the artist model when Doc and Getzen split again.. The special heat treatment on the bell and leadpipe gave this horn an extremly brilliant sound.. Though mouthpiece selection can influence it a bit.. I have this horn in both silver and gold. And the gold one is a little less bright. Ofcorse this is because of the extra layer of plating over the silver that is used as a base. I find also that for me these horns fill a nich and only use them mostly when their bright and brilliant sound is desired. If you play alot of jazz it would be used more often. The Getzen Custom 3050 is a better all arounder..
