Pros: Full size pro trumpet sound
Cons: Full size pro trumpet price

I have it in lacquer rather than silver plate - the lacquer they use is so dark I thought the horn was gold plated when I first saw it. I play tested it against the Jupiter pocket trumpet and they are clearly in differrent leagues. Oddly, I think my benge pocket trumpet sounds better than my full size benge (1986 Claude Gordon model).

Pros: Professional music instrument
Cons: Somewhat awkward position of the 1st valve slide saddle

I have it in sliver plate. Had a chance to try out a lacquer-finish model as well, before deciding which one to buy, the silver plated one (I don't know for what reason) sounded better and more delicate to me. No matter what's the finish, it's a real music instrument, open, agile and responsive, enjoyable to play, with beautiful sound. If you know what to play, this instrument won't prevent you from doing it. It's a league of its own. Sounding full in the low register, subtle and warm in the middle, clear in the high. Excellent intonation, especially in downward jumps. Remarkable dynamics and immediate articulation: the tone is resonant and noble in the pianissimo, powerful and bright in the fortissimo, interesting and full of nuances in the mezzo. Due to its compact size, it sounds more intimate to the player, than a straight B flat trumpet of comparable category. Legato passages sound beautiful. The bell accepts all standard mutes. Harmon and Lyric sound exceptionally good. Great for recording sessions, IMHO. Some extra features (an additional water key, an optional 3rd valve slide ring) would nevertheless, be welcome. As one may understand, an instrument, such as this is not a toy, so one shouldn't expect to find a toy's price tagged to it. If you know what you need it for, its fair market value (between $1000 and $1200) should not prevent you from getting it.

Pros: It's an incredibly comfortable instrument to play
Cons: The difficulty to obtain it here in Spain

I have had this trumpet for 25 years, it was my father's, and now I play it. I would be delighted, to be able to buy it, new. For years, I tried to obtain it, but in the the stores, that I ask here in Spain, they tell me that it's not distributed here. It's a tragedy, although I think I can save, and travel to the U.S.A. to buy it. If you know where can be obtained here in Spain, I request you contact me, I would be very thankful.
