Pros: Finish, quality, projection
Cons:

Schilke's move to provide an intermediate horn during their early relationship with Yamaha. Schilke bell and leadpipe with Yamaha valves BUT Schilke craftsmen putting them together!

Never had any problems with the valves. Plays fanatastically. Great sound and the fit and finish you expect from Schilke but (at the time) 50% of the price of the pro models.

Pros: Warm, rich quality; great valve action - beautiful finish!
Cons: None

I bought this horn off an acquaintance that had no idea about trumpets; he'd bought it with a lot of other musical instruments at some sale. I didn't know what the model number meant and this was before computers were common. It was years before I realized the MII was not a high end pro model! Rats, I'd already played in over 20 states with it and had so many compliments about the beautiful tone. The finish is still dazzling; never refinished either. The valves are quick and the slides maintain excellent compression. I've enjoyed my MII so much it's hard to explain. With my Warburton mouthpieces (4S, M & D) I find any style to be imminently achievable.

Pros: Sound, quality, pitch control
Cons:

I purchased the Schilke MII from a pawn shop that had no knowledge of instruments. $100 out the door with ease back in 1988. I've played in several bands and orchestras all over the U.S. and it has performed welll. I met a couple people who had the same model trumpet and they were semi-pro players as well.
I'd been told that Schilke never made a horn less than a pro model, so I always thought it was of pro quality.

Maybe a pro trumpet would have suited me better, but I never had issues with it at all.

Bore size was good, not too big. I'm going to contact Schilke and get some specs on it hopefully.
